About Me

Some details about me

Anate Vicente

Her mind has always been interested in art. In addition to her studies at the University of Zaragoza, which included 3 years of History of Art, she had the opportunity to maintain contact with numerous artists during the 20 years where she worked in some institutions of the Community of Aragon (Spain). In her opinion, this environment, some gene which she have fortunely inherited from my grand father who was an esmalte artist and a bit of luck, has brought her here.

Of all the artistic disciplines that she met, it was the Mosaic that attracted her attention from the first moment. She still have the clear memory of the first job she did during my time in El Salvador (Central America). It would seem that the Muses (that is where the word ‘mosaic’ comes from) conquered her. And Fortune meant that her next and current destination was Istanbul (Turkey), where Byzantine Art had its main artistic expression within mosaic.

She invites us to visit this space and enjoy this art as old and unique as it is fascinating.

My Mission

Despite being an art with limitations in its execution, or maybe precisely because of that, she like to face the challenge of representing what she wants with different materials and on different surfaces. Some images are transformed into a mosaic for her; many of them come from her memories and experiences, others simply from what exists around her.
